My computer, that’s who. Yesterday I had just started to watch the second act of Lohengrin “Live From The Met”, the one from the ’80s with Marton as Elisabeth. Needless to say, Leonie Rysanek is beyond fierce as Ortrud cum Nancy Reagan. So fierce, in fact, that my computer froze —with fear, of that I have no doubt. I’m certain of this because of the image frozen on my computer screen at the exact second of freeze-up, one that remained emblazoned on 24 glorious inches of full screen for quite some time.
